Have you ever imagined what could happen if you just followed the energy, trusted yourself and were grateful for every possibility of change, however small? Here are some of the possibilities of magic and question.
Following the energy:
Access Bars in prisons? What else is possible? On a recent internet radio call with Liam Phillips we had some interesting callers from overseas – one discussed how he had murdered his partner, and another caller wanted to commit suicide. We chose not to air the interview – instead Liam and I asked lots of questions around this… which lead me to ask a question about prisons – how and who could I contact? And how easy could that be? I called the medical area and offered a free talk around grief and stress and left it open to what else was possible. Never knowing where it would go…
Trusting yourself:
The prison responded, allowing us to teach bars on 6 to 12 prisoners each week – from mainstream to maximum security prisoners. I then asked more questions about who else would be willing to contribute… from that I called Marg, who instantly chose to play. From one week to the next we never knew who we were going to be presented with and what any of them had done. Our willingness to be totally present and in no judgment has allowed them to open up and receive.
Walking into the prison each week through the security checks and then through the many locked doors that you can barely open with an officer by our side, you look around at the faces of the inmates – so many, so young, so much boredom, despair and frustration. By the end of the day you can see the change in those who have had the bars… what a gift! A female officer commented ‘It is like you girls are sprinkling fairy dust over them and then they sprinkle it over their mates who then all want to come back and find out more.’ How does it get any better than that?
Gratitude:
Through asking lots of questions, we are now concentrating for the next 3 months on the drug unit as part of their rehabilitation program, in collaboration with Marilyn… Bradford … what else is possible?
I have such gratitude for everyone… for Margaret Braunach – for the phenomenal being she is; for Gary and Dain – without whom there may not be change, hope or possibilities; to myself and to the inmates who have facilitated me and have shown me the true magic of the bars. What else is possible? And what more can I be do generate create and institute?

Interesting work. I work at a Juvenile Hall Facitliy and would like to set up a program and teach bars. As a bars practitioner, I know would be possible if someone can convince the purse holders. Please advise. ~ Robin

This is just amazing. How did we get so lucky to have learned the BARS and then have the opportunity to share them? What an innovative use of your talents and abilities. What are the possibilities of teaching the BARS to the heads of states?
